The law firm of Heintz & Becker is proud to announce that David Becker is now Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Civil Trial Law. Of the more than 87,000 members of The Florida Bar, only 1,075 are Board Certified in Civil Trial Law. In Bradenton, there are only four attorneys that are Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and two of those attorneys are members of Heintz & Becker. Supreme Court Justice Harry Lee Anstead stated in 2003, that "Certification should be the capstone for a lawyer’s professionalism goals." Board Certified attorneys are the only attorneys that can identify themselves as "Board Certified," Specialist," or "Expert." Board Certified attorneys must meet minimum standards in order to even sit for the examination. They must have been practicing law a minimum of five years, have a satisfactory showing of substantial involvement in the field of law for which certification is sought, achieve a passing grade on the board certification examination, meet a satisfactory peer review assessment of competence in the field as well as character, ethics and professionalism in the practice of law and meet the certification area’s continuing legal education requirements. The Board Certification is valid for five years and during this time, attorneys must continue attending legal education courses and meet other requirements. Achieving Board Certification is not easy and it is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar. Steven Heintz has been board certified since 1998. Our firm is very proud that both Steven Heintz and David Becker have achieved Board Certification in Civil Trial Law
